RD Motorsport is the first and only Botswana based Motorsport Promotion Company. Set up in mid 2008 by Darryl Ellitson, the concept and Mission was simple:

  • Provide a platform for the Motorsport Clubs of Botswana to promote and generate awareness for the sport and its various disciplines.
  • Through the same Platform, provide opportunities for Individuals, Companies and Organizations to get involved in Motorsport. Offering the Motorsport and Motoring industry stakeholders, i.e. Motor Vehicle Dealerships, Financiers and other associated brands and product distributors the appropriate Place, Time and Opportunity to market their Brand directly to their target market.
  • Through our success and the involvement of Socially Responsible Partners and Companies, develop Motorsport riders and drivers through our Racing Development program.

To achieve our mission we established the following objectives and to date have all been met

  • Develop platform concepts and put into place structures that will enable a suitable platform to promote Motorsport in Botswana, the platforms are:
  • RD Motorsport Magazine will be a monthly 40 page high gloss magazine featuring all our local motoring and motorsport news. The focus will be motorsport and the motorsport lifestyle.
  • Riding Dirty Motorsport TV will be a weekly televised version of the magazine with 26 episodes planned for the 2010 motorsport season. With test ride and drive features and product reviews
  • www.ridingdirty.co.bw is currently active and an electronic supplement to what one can find in every issue of our hard copy magazine. The aim of our site is to compliment the content of the magazine by providing up to the minute information on all relevant news that would otherwise remain unpublished or outdated if we only relied on the printed copy. It also allows us to add value to some of the articles one finds in the magazine. For example, an article covering the events at a race track could be further enhanced by video, which readers would be able to access online. From a marketing perspective, the site also allows us to gather information such as the demographic breakdown of visitors, which allows not only us but also our clients to target specific groups or even individuals for marketing purposes.
